Video Game Reviews of Luminous Arc 2Customer Review: Luminus arc fight scenes like chess Summary: 4 StarsThe game is good but the fights are like a chess game. I think they should be more like live action instead of chess game setting.
Customer Review: Good game, but with its faults. Summary: 4 StarsIts good game, but not without its faults. When it comes to gameplay, sometimes you'd wish this game was more like Fire Emblem. But its fun nonetheless.
The story... its lengthy one but, well, its quite cliche and the main is a bit to soft for the look of his appearance. But the overall art is excellent and you'll want to discover everything about the girls you like in the game.
Overall, this game leaves much to be desired but it still a satisfying enough experience.
Customer Review: Easy game, easy playing, with cute characters Summary: 4 StarsFree and easy game, recommended for all levels of players,
who like to sit and enjoy the chats and funs within the games
Customer Review: I can't even finish this game!!! Summary: 1 StarsAt first, this game has what seems to be very nice art on the box, but the illustrations in the game, even of the main character himself, are all to often poorly rendered and look BAD! I have almost finished this game, took me several months; that's how boring this game is. All it is is talking and long, long, looooong fights that are followed by very LONG conversations. There are no dungeons, there's no walking around.
This game is just bad. The enemy sprites merely change colors, there is not the biggest variety of them. The story is terrible; it's like the writers ripped off every other good and bad game story, mushed it together and made puke soup for a story. Totally predictable, no depth, and seemingly totally random. It's also all too often anti-climatic, or very interesting characters or possible story lines totally left out.
The gameplay mechanics aren't too bad. But they get old fast. The battles can take 45 minutes, and all you do is build up a super-move gauge, attack, and move. They never change throughout the whole game. I am literally at the last boss, and it's so boring, I can't make myself suffer through this anymore.
The characters are a bit irritating as well. The only one I like is Rasche, the red-headed brother of the main character. The rest are just annoying. Roland, the main character, is so bland and stereotypical, he might as well have as much flavor as water. The rest are weak and wishy-washy in personality,
Back to the art of the cutscenes and characters; except for facial expressions and backgrounds, they never change!!! And the battle sprites are just average, though they have a touch of variety.
The included music CD has the songs titled incorrectly, so if you want to here "Shadow Frost Witch", you instead get the opening theme.
Which brings me to my next point. The music is so terrible, I had to keep the sound off!!! So is the voice acting and choice of voice actors!!! Shadow Frost Witch and a certain battle theme with one of the last bad guys are the ONLY DECENT SONGS!!! I mean decent, not great. I would be embarrassed to have anyone hear me playing this game, that's how bad the sound in general is (not the quality, that's actually pretty good, but the enjoyability is another thing).
The good thing is that pretty much all of the characters introduced are playable, but that gets narrowed down simply because you cannot keep them all leveled if you want to beat it in less that 6 months.
The women and girls are dressed in a very "revealing", trashy way. Please forgive me if I offend anyone, but they are not decent!
I knew I hated this game from the moment I started playing. This is a huge regret, but I can't sell it back for squat, so it's a permanent stain in my DS game holder.
Customer Review: good game Summary: 4 StarsThis is a good tactical RPG. Not quite the level of Tactics Ogre or Final Fantasy tactics, but well worth the purchase. It seems simple at first but the difficulty does ramp up after a bit, so be prepared.
