A few months ago my wife dropped our DS, breaking the hinge. It still worked fine but the top screen flopped around so I was thinking of JB welding it to be open permanently but still usable. Fortunately I sat on my hands and left it in a bag. Then one night I found this replacement shell and I figured, "what the hell", I can't make it any worse. Long story short I fixed it. I did use the original buttons, they just felt better, the only exception being the volume and corners. The plastic is different from the original DS but seems fine mine was painted, it comes with all the screws you need but I would use your orignals before those, they are better. I would not recommend replacing the screen frames, very putzy and you can really wreck stuff. Wish it had come with new sticky mounts for the speakers, mine rattle. But I'm really happy overall with it.
