Video Game Reviews of Animal Crossing: Wild World

Customer Review: Wow-Animal Crossing Back in Action!
Summary: 5 Stars

I could fit many, many pages with what makes Animal Crossing: Wild World the best, funnest, and most creative gaming experience I've ever known. But I'll manage to fit everything in a paragraph or two.

Animal Crossing: Wild World urges the creativity and problem-solving skills out of anyone. The basic gameplay is you must pay off debts to a cheap racoon named Tom Nook. As your house expands more and more, the debt acumulates. You can decorate your house with furniture you get from neighbours (did I mention them yet?), from Tom Nook's store, or from shaking some trees that will (hopefully) prove fruitful and give you a piece of furniture.

You can decorate your house with any number of exotic and wild themes. My favorite are the Western Series, Mario Set, and the Classic set. Of course, there are many, many more.

Time passes like it would on Earth, but when you're playing Animal Crossing: Wild World, there isn't enough time in the world to get what you want done! You can talk to neighbours (you can get eight of them at a time) and hope they give you a favour, you can also check out their houses!

And did I mention the birthday perks? On your birthday, one of the VERY kind residents decides to give you a birthday cake. On the residents' birthday, you can go over to their house for some PAR-TAY!

This game is so good-there is so much I want to explain, but I'm afraid I'd bore you to death. This game is so amazing-it challengs both the creative and intellectual sides of you. Kids will find this game very fun, and even adults get hooked. If you have a Nintendo-Wifi connection, you can get someone's friend code and see their town! You can also do it locally.

And with the start of Animal Crossing: City Folk, Animal Crossing will never be the same again! I've played Animal Crossing: Game Cube, Animal Crossing: Wild World, and I plan to be a proud owner of Animal Crossing: City Folk, released on November 16, 2008.

Customer Review: A Great Game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I am 12 and have just gotten a DS about 5 months ago, and boy is this game the best I've ever played by far!!! This game is cute and busy and you will never ever get bored with it. You can just think "Ugh, I have nothing to do on my DS so I guess I'll just see what's up in my animal crossing town," and you will be busy for hours.
You start off in a taxi driving to your town. You choose your name, gender, and town name, although not your body (but you'll be able to change clothes, hats, masks, accessories, hair color, etc. later in the game.)You arrive and your town is this little unique thing. There are 3 animals living with you in different cottages. Each neighbor is a unique animal with different personalities, styles, and looks. You will very quickly become attatched to these neighbors and you will all be friends. There's a river, a beach, a couple little ponds, a tailor, a shop, a museum, a town gate, and a town hall (pant pant.) There are many workers in the town who you will discover and befriend.
You start off with a little cottage. You have a debt to the shop keeper. Throughout the game you keep paying off your mortagages, and your house will get bigger and bigger and bigger!! (But so will your mortgages. :( )
Money? It's called Bells. You can earn bells by selling your local fruit (pears, cherries, peaches, apples, or oranges), doing errands for your neighbors (they have to ask you first,) catching and selling fish and bugs, and discovering, identifying, and selling fossils. To find a buried treasure, take your shovel and look for a little X/star shape on the ground and then dig there. Buy tools at your shop to do these things.
There's a cool museum!! In there you can make constellations that will appear in the sky. You can also donate one of every bug, painting, fish, and fossil. If you find a fossil, take it to the museum and have the owl IDENTIFY it. Then you can either donate or sell it for lots of Bells.
At the tailors you can by patterns, clothes, hats, masks, umbrellas, and much more. You can also make your own patterns, which is really fun.
The more money you spend at the shop, the bigger it gets until it turns into a mini department store/mall with tons of stuff, including a HAIR SALON where you can change the color and style of your hair.
And lastly, the game is time cooperative. When it's night at your home, it's night there, and vice versa. Same with seasons. Colors (of trees, grass, etc.) in your town will change with the weather. It can rain or be sunny. It will snow in winter. There will be different types of bugs and fish in the different seasons, along with many wacky festivals, contests, and birthday parties. Your town will grow and change, as you can chop down trees, plant new ones, make flower gardens, and create cool paths. Be creative! Be wild!! This game is so full of fun surprises and charm that you will NOT be able to put it down. This is my favorite video game ever.

I am 33 and my kids are 9 and 6, we LOVE this game, we often fight over who gets to play, its a nice starter game if you are just getting a DS.
Easy to play and understand, does require some reading though so you may have to help smaller kids until they get the hang of it. Great for all ages.
