Customer Review: Mario has not and will not be defeated
Summary: 4 Stars

This one is a worthy Nintendo title for the DS Library, I was getting kinda nervous with past availble titles however it nice to see the DS system getting some overdue attention with some decent titles like Metriode prime Hunters, Super Mario Kart.

I won't go into great detail since some of the other reviews cover that ground pretty well, I however as a Mario fan endorse this product

The graphics mainly borrow from Super Mario 3, but I do see some elements from other titles such as Super Mario World and Super Mario All-Stars Version of Super Mario Bros. as well as some new features and characters, if your a fan of the orginal Super Mario and Super Mario 3 you'll love this one.

Customer Review: Fun for kids and adults alike!
Summary: 5 Stars

I need to warn everyone that my wife and I are both old enough to have been fans of the orginal Mario... but we are still young to love the newest version in the series.

Sometimes you just have to get back to the basics - and that is exactly what happens with this newest Mario installment. Nintendo has taken the best features of the first three Super Marios (with some new features too!) and blended them into one great game.

Pros-

- All new version of an great favorite
- Interesting twists
- nice graphics for a hand held game
- Decent game length
- very fun mini games

Cons-

- Game isn't too challenging for your average gamer
- Most of the mini games are repeats

As a whole - the game is well worth the $35 and will supply many hours of great game play.

Customer Review: Big Fat Plumber=Big Fat FUN!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought a Nintendo DS (Mario Kart package) as soon as I heard this game was coming out. And I have to say, I have absolutely NO REGRETS! If you don't have a DS, buy one. It's worth it just for this game. So fun!

Customer Review: A Lukewarm Mario Fan Review
Summary: 4 Stars

I picked this game up last night thinking it would be a blast. Turns out this game isn't very challenging. I'm halfway through the second level and I'm getting bored. I'm hoping the game gets harder, or it gets more complex, or challenging, but I'm starting to doubt it. I also own Super Mario DS and this really does not compare on almost all levels.

The polish on this game doesn't feel like what you'd expect from Nintendo today. It feels very rushed and lacks sharp graphic details. The visual elements, and graphics just aren't clean as I'd expect. Secondly, there's little to no wow factor -- aside from the (mini mushroom, and giant mushroom), but those get old quick. Additionally, the mini games are borrowed from Super Mario DS. The only addition I see to the mini-games is the ability to now play with a group of people. This shows a real lack of ingenuity on Nintendo's part. Also, the fonts aren't as fun and as developed as what you've seen in Super Mario DS.

You can only save your progress at certain points in the game, once you beat a boss, or purchase extra paths on the map (giant couns). This feels quirky when you are trying to save your progress or power off. I find myself opening random paths just to get a save.

Anyhow, I think that this will open up Mario to a younger fanbase. However, lacking polish, and wow factor I doubt it will catch on like other DS titles.

Overall, I was expecting a lot out of Nintendo here. I paid 34$ retail ,but I don't feel like it was worth the price.

Pros: Mario brand, Nintendo DS, New
Cons: Weak graphics, lackluster gameplay, low challenge
