Video Game Reviews of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

Customer Review: Fantastic Game - Just like the show!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been wanting this game for months and I just got it yesterday and played it for hours last night. It is a fantastic game! It has all the great features of the show, including the theme song, the host, the cheats, and it even tells you the correct answers when you guess it wrong!

I found the questions to be challenging and I have yet to win a million dollars, but the questions are great and I love learning new things. The only problem I came across was the question "Which planet is closest to the sun." I answered Mercury and so did the 5th grader I was playing with, but the game said it was wrong, that the closest planet to the sun was Venus. Even the dictionary said it was Mercury! So I don't know what's up with that, but all the other answers to the questions seem accurate, though I admit that I don't know them all.

Overall, they did a fantastic job on this game. The only recommendation I would make to the makers would be to allow the player to "create" the classmates, like on other games where you can create your avatar (i.e. pick the looks, clothing, etc). I think that would be a fun addition. Other than that, I would recommend this game to everyone who loves the show, to everyone who loves to learn, and to everyone who likes taking quizzes/tests.

Customer Review: Fun, But Don't Expect "Jeopardy"
Summary: 4 Stars

This is the only DS information quiz-style game out there so I gave it 4 stars for that. Also, it seems intended for bright kids more than adults so I'm not penalizing it for the lack of adult-level challenge.

I miss one or two questions per game, so it's not THAT easy. On the other hand, the questions I don't miss ARE pretty easy, especially given that (all but the final) are multiple choice.

I got it to (1) see how much general information I remember and (2) fight the aging process (memory!) a bit. The easiness of it makes it relaxing to do, but I hope they plan something harder in the future (how about "Are You As Smart as a NINTH Grader"?) As DS moves more and more into the adult-learner market, I think that will happen.

Customer Review: it gets you to think!
Summary: 4 Stars

i bought this product simply on the on the reviews i read. i have never seen the show.. but it does make me want to watch. i found the game easy to use. it was also fun to play; it makes you open up your brain to find the right answer. the hardest thing for me is music-- and i played the piano for many years!!! it goes to show you that you cant know everything! overall the game was a pleasure to play.

Customer Review: JUST LIKE THE SHOW
Summary: 4 Stars

This game is exactly like the show. This is another family game that is also educational because just like the t.v. show if you get the answer incorrect it does tell you the correct answer. My 8 year old loves this game.

Customer Review: diane is smarter sometimes!
Summary: 4 Stars

I found this game to be almost the same as the program on tv and fun to play.
