"Imagine Gymnast" is a huge improvement over the "Gym Girlz" DS game that's been available for a few years, but neither one is that great. The gameplay on both is nearly identical, but "Imagine Gymnast" allows you to personalize your character with different options for hair color, a wider range of skin tones, and better leotard designs. Some of the challenges in the game aren't explained well at all, which can make trying to get 100% on every level difficult. The better you do on each level, the more customizations you earn for your character. As you go through the game you unlock different team mates that you can also play with.
If you're a true gymnastics fan, you might start getting annoyed with the game, because there are a lot of inaccuracies in it. Some skills are given the wrong name, or are shown being performed incorrectly. Shannon Miller is supposed to be your coach throughout the game, but a lot of the things "she" says are things I doubt the real Shannon Miller would actually say if she were training a novice gymnast.
If you can get this game for $15 or less, I say go for it. Otherwise, try finding it used somewhere.
