Video Game Reviews of My French CoachCustomer Review: Good for practice!! Summary: 4 StarsI got this product with the objective of practicing french, and I might say that it is very usefull, the activities are dinamic and you get related to the language.
Even so, I'm 22, and I took french courses for almost 2 years, so I was already related to it. If it is the first time you get in touch with french I think its a little tediuos and complicated at first... also it is not funny for children, and I mean 12 years old.
But as I said first... is a very good tool to practice and not forgive what you've learned!
Customer Review: french coach Summary: 4 StarsI bought this game as a gift for my friends' son and he now has to fight his parents to give the game back. They are all trying to learn french before moving to a french island and all say French Coach is so much fun. I have also bought Spanish Coach for my son and ended up having to buy two more for my friends teenagers who thought it was fun and hooked them. If the kids, teens and parents are all getting into it, then it must be fun and worth it.
Customer Review: Not bad, but the games are stupid and repetitive Summary: 3 StarsThe repetition of vocabulary is good, but the games are lame. One has you clicking on gophers that pop up out of holes, that's kind of pre-school. Since I have a 12 year old using the game to learn a second language it just seems infantile for both of us. The other game is a word search, but it gives you so little time to find the phrases, I ended up with tired eyes from having to scan so fast.(I also don't think that it helped me learn the language any better.) I thought the flash card games were better and saved me from having to sit there and painstakingly print out index cards.
Customer Review: awesome Summary: 4 StarsI love this game. Although when you use your stylus to write the letters, sometimes you can write the wrong letter and the game takes it as the right one. Other than that, this game is awesome and you do learn a lot of new words.
Customer Review: Fairly good as a vocabulary builder Summary: 2 StarsMy French Coach is fine for learning new words. Early on in the sequence there are some lessons that impart new concepts, but at some point, it seems to morph into nothing more than a vocabulary builder totally void of any grammatical concepts or lessons. That's fine I guess. I had hoped for at least some sort of rudimentary lesson structure to build upon throughout the many, many levels which one can progress. It can't hurt you to spend time with this game. Just don't expect too much in the way of improving your grammatical skills.
